A 40-BORE PERCUSSION RIFLED TURN-OFF WHITE-METAL BODIED POCKET-PISTOL, no visible serial number,
circa 1840, with deeply rifled 2 3/4in. turn-off round barrel (traces of finish), engraved band to muzzle, round white-metal scroll engraved boxlock action signed 'DOBSON, LOUTH', colour-hardened central dolphin-headed hammer (good colour), sliding safe to the top-tang, chequered walnut bag-shaped butt, white-metal oval escutcheon to wrist and engraved white-metal butt-cap, concealed blued automatic trigger
