A PAIR OF 18-BORE FLINTLOCK HOLSTER-PISTOLS FOR THE OTTOMAN MARKET, no visible serial numbers,
circa 1790, with slightly swamped 11 3/4in. iron barrels carved with sighting ribs broken by arabesques nearer the breech, scroll engraving and false signature to the front portion terminating in applied brass fore-sights, notched hump-back top-tangs, flat bevel edged lock-plates with scroll engraving, carved hammers, ribbed frizzen faces, walnut full-stocks carved around the furniture and top-tangs, brass long-spurred butt-caps, silver pierced escutcheons to the wrists and false ramrod, both pistols with small losses to wood especially at the fore-ends and around the butt-caps, one lock at fault, both butt-caps with losses and repairs
