AN 1821 PATTERN ARTILLERY OFFICER'S SWORD, serial number 28011,
for 1887, with Wilkinson style 35in. straight spear-point blade, both sides etched with scroll work within arabesque borders and featuring Georgian crowns and cyphers, the left hand side etched near the hilt with a fleur-d-lys motif over a banner with 'BY APPOINTMENT', the reverse with etched panel initialled 'A.E.M.', the forte signed 'HENRY WILKINSON PALL MALL LONDON', iron three-bar half-basket guard with turned down quillion, sharkskin covered wire-bound grip and chequered pommel, complete with its polished steel dress scabbard
