A GERMAN PATTERN 1816 INFANTRY HANGER, with curved 25 1/2in. hatchet-point blade, narrow blind fuller along the back edge, the first part of the blade etched with a crown and a 'T.R' monogram', solid brass hilt with heart-shaped guard with a raised border and tear-drop quillion, the underside of guard stamped '1Y.1.6', the 'D' shaped knuckle-guard stamped '4:No. 266.28.L.R.', round section grip with diagonal ribbing to one side, rounded urn pommel and complete with its black leather scabbard with brass frog-bar
