A YATAGHAN SWORD,
Afghanistan, circa 1870, with typical recurved 21in. blade, the sides with silver koftgari geometric devices and inscription, narrow carved fuller along the back-edge, carved spine along the back of blade, arabesque bordered punched beadwork gilded blade mount forwards of hilt (small loss to back-edge, some soldered repairs), en-suite grip-straps with a mount for a gemstone at pommel (absent) and polished horn scales with broad 'ears', complete with its leather scabbard with embossed mounts (losses to mounts) and fitted with a later bullion belt-rope
