for 1801, with later conversion by another to percussion via drum and nipple, re-browned triple-staged 31 1/2in. barrel (re-proved), the squared breech-block with inlet poincon stamped 'JOSEPH MANTON PATENT' in raised letters, border engraved lock signed 'JOSEPH MANTON LONDON' (pan crudely removed, filled holes to lockplate), scroll engraved hammer, walnut half-stock with iron furniture (fore-end tip absent) and associated ramrod; COMPLETE WITH its original mahogany storage case, relined in blue baize, (original trade-label re-attached), and containing a period powder flask, shot-flask and cap-tin, together with a number of card wads
