dated for 27 August 1878, the set contained within a mahogany storage case 14 1/4in. x 4 3/4in. and complete with five taps and five dies, the handles marked 'PATENTED AUGUST 31 1875' and 'THE PRATT & WHITNEY CO. HARTFORD CONN, U.S.A.', the outside of lid bearing a brass plaque reading 'L.R.B. N. (TOWER WARD) COMPANY 27th AUG. 1878. PRESENTED BY THE RT. HON. SIR CHARLES WHELTHAM, LORD MAYOR. WON BY Pte. T. P.
