circa 1770, with swamped octagonal 37 1/2in. barrel, rifled in eight grooves for approximately the last 3in., bead fore-sight, standing notch rear-sight, engraved top-tang with further shallow sighting groove, slightly curved, radiused lock with pointed tail, spurious or renewed 'BRAZIER' signature forwards of the hammer, walnut half-stock chequered at the wrist, iron furniture including broad-toed heel-plate, scrolled pistol-grip lower tang, nose-cap and stirrup swivels, lower rib with ramrod thimbles, ramrod missing
