Other Notes: Albert Greener and his guns remain somewhat of a mystery. One of the second generation of Greener gunmakers, third son of William Greener he was born in 1846 in Warwickshire. He is recorded in the 1861 census as being a trainee gunmaker and will have completed his apprenticeship in 1867. Within two years he had emigrated to San Francisco and very little more is known of his life after this.
A good many guns with 'A Greener' marked on them are actually Belgian trade guns, it is thought marked in such a way as to deceive the export market (and with no genuine connection to Albert Greener at all)
