28in. nitro reproved damascus barrels, the ribs engraved 'JAMES MACNAUGHTON. 26. HANOVER STREET. EDINBURGH & PERTH.', gold-inlaid '1' and '2' and with grape and vine engraved motifs at the breech ends, 2 1/2in. chambers, bored approx. imp. cyl. and 1/2 choke (both), Macnaughton patent actions incorporating later 1894 barrel-cocking design, with standard length toplevers gold-inlaid '1' and '2', top-straps with solid inspection plate covers and 1879 patent manual pivoting safety levers with engraved 'SAFE' detail, the skeletal action bars and furniture finely engraved with flowing grape and vine motifs set against a matt background, the fore-end irons engraved en suite, retaining traces of original colour-hardening and finish, 14 1/8in. highly-figured stocks (No.2 with repair to bar wood), weight 6lb. 8oz.
