SPENCER ARMS CO. 12-BORE '1882 PATENT' PUMP-ACTION SHOTGUN, RETAILED BY CHARLES LANCASTER, serial no. 05555, 27 1/2in. black powder only damascus barrel (loose), bead fore-sight, 2 1/2in. chamber, bored approx. 3/4 choke, Spencer & Roper patent action, US patent no. 255,894 / UK patent no. 1636 of 1882, with pivoted breech block, damascus tubular magazine with exterior sliding handle which operates loading and ejecting cartridges and cocks the hammer, the triggerguard housing a secondary reversed trigger which also cocks the hammer, action engraved 'CHARLES LANCASTER. 151. NEW BOND STREET. LONDON.', 'SPENCER PATENT', blacked finish (some pitting), 13 1/2in. replacement stock (loose, top tang missing retaining screw), weight 7lb. 12oz.
