AN EARLY .850 'DOGLOCK' STYLE FLINTLOCK RAMPART GUN OF EXCEPTIONAL LENGTH,
first quarter of the 18th century, with heavy iron 80 1/2in. barrel, slightly swamped muzzle, provision for fore-sight bead (missing), standing aperture rear-sight to the front of the solid top-tang, plain iron doglock type lock with swinging 'dog' behind the hammer, walnut full-stock (substantial part of butt replaced), heavy iron furniture and horse-shoe swivel mount with later iron reinforcing band
