continental, possibly Swiss or German circa 1790 and converted from flintlock, with 40 1/2in. barrel (pitted externally), plain converted lock, walnut three-quarter stock with iron furniture (trigger guard tang and bow missing), brod barrel-bands and complete with a period socket bayonet (2)
