A RARE 18-BORE FLINTLOCK OVER-UNDER SPORTING-GUN, serial no. 3560?,
circa 1805, expertly re-converted back to flintlock, with re-browned twist iron octagonal to sixteen-sided to round 31 1/4in. barrels banded at the intersection, the top-flat signed in block gilt letters 'MANTON, LONDON', two gold bands and gold lined touch-holes at breech (re-coloured), white metal bead fore-sight, borderline engraved top-tang with scientific trophy to the tail, border engraved locks with rain-proof pans (some loss to detail in engraved areas), roller frizzen springs, chequered walnut butt-stock with carved raised cheek-piece, iron furniture, the top-spur of heel-plate with registration number 'D-O 2568', raised pistol-grip trigger guard tang and under-barrel thimbles for ramrod (ramrod replaced)

Other Notes: A note of the serial number was recorded by the vendor's father and is apparently on the rear of the breech-block. It has not proved possible to verify this however.
