AN INDIAN 19TH CENTURY MADU,
circa 1860, with convex iron shield approximately 10in. in diameter and decorated with an applied brass edge border, a band of rosettes alternating with crescents and central domed rivets, the reverse with two overlapping natural black buck horns, their points in opposite directions, the hollow ends with iron caps, the points also probably originally capped but now absent, the whole corroded and water-stained
