circa 1600, 38 3/4in. diamond shaped cross-section blade with flat center panels, central fuller for the first 10in., both sides inlet with a 'Passau' running wolf mark (rubbed, small losses to inlay), squared ricasso flanked by flat iron pas-de-ane joining onto a simple shell guard with a 'D' shaped reverse, straight iron cross-guard with plain forward and back quillions, wire-bound moulded wood grip (binding renewed) and ovoid pommel with top button
