circa 1680, with straight double-edged broad 35in. blade, armourer's stamp at forte, complex iron basket formed of twelve bars, probable original spirally fluted leather covered wood grip-piece (probably wire bound originally) and brass 'eared' pommel with raised floral rosettes to each side
