original 30in. nitro chopperlump barrels, rib engraved '2' and 'J. PURDEY & SONS. AUDLEY HOUSE. SOUTH AUDLEY STREET. LONDON. W.1. BARRELS MADE FROM SIR JOSEPH WHITWORTH'S FLUID STEEL', 2 1/2in. chambers, bored approx. true cyl. and 1/2 choke, wall thicknesses well below recommended minimum;
extra 30in. nitro barrels, rib engraved 'CHARLES HELLIS & SONS. 119 EDGEWARE ROAD. HYDE PARK. LONDON. W.', the breech end engraved '2' and with a gold star, 2 1/2in. chambers, bored approx. 1/4 and 1/2 choke;
self-opening action with removable striker discs, toplever engraved '2', automatic safety with gold-inlaid 'SAFE' detail, arrow cocking-indicators, fine acanthus scroll engraving with floral bouquets, brushed bright finish, 14 3/8in. well-figured stock, cast on for the left shoulder, weight 6lb. 10oz. (original) and 6lb. 11oz. (extra), in a canvas case with Charles Hellis trade label, the extra barrels in a leather barrel case with second pair of Charles Hellis replacement barrels for the No.1 gun
