A BLACK & WHITE CLOSE HELM OR ARMET,
probably German circa 1570, the skull segmented with ten blind raised flutes, articulated visor (hinge nuts replaced internally), the borders and central panel brushed bright, articulated face-plate with single central bar forming the sights, the diamond-shaped mouth aperture flanked with panels of pierced holes and rectangles, the chin hinged to one side and retained by a leather strap and buckle (strap and buckle renewed), some restoration around neck and small replacements, the interior painted black for preservation, brushed bright borders throughout (some staining and re-finishing)
