for 1864, with octagonal 7 1/2in. barrel signed 'ADDRESS COL SAML. COLT NEW-YORK U.S. AMERICA, London proofs, plain cylinder with naval engagement scene, open iron frame marked 'COLTS PATENT', brass grip-straps and trigger-guard, plain smooth walnut one-piece grip, the left hand side marked with an 'Enfield' roundel stamp and hinged under-barrel loading rod, traces of finish and colour, some bruising to metalwork and grips
