A CASED 54-BORE PERCUSSION FIVE-SHOT REVOLVER, serial no. B14647,
circa 1858, with blued 5 1/2in. octagonal barrel, the top-strap and flat signed 'ROBERT ADAMS, 76 KING WILLIAM STREET, LONDON E.C.', dovetailed blade fore-sight, standing notch rear-sight to top-strap, the right hand side of breech marked 'LAC' together with a crown, plain cylinder, borderline engraved solid frame with sliding cylinder locking safe, the right hand side marked with the serial number over 'ADAMS' PATENT NO 30311R', spurred hammer, chequered walnut one-piece grip, rammer mounted to the side of barrel and double-action trigger, the whole retaining much original blued finish with some patchy corrosion from powder burns; TOGETHER WITH its maker's oak storage case compartmented and lined in green baize, cut out in lid interior for a blue 'Adams' parchment label, the tray containing a full compliment of original accessories including an 'Adams Patent' brass mould, cleaning rod, oil bottle, Hawksley flask, turn-screw and cap-tin
