dated for 1759, with round tapering 12in. barrel, moulded band at breech, carved apron around the solid top-tang, borderline engraved radiused lock sighed 'FARMER 1759' at the tail and with a crown over 'G.R.' device forwards of the hammer, walnut full-stock with carved border around the lock cut back to three-quarter (loses to fore-end edges, cracked through at wrist), long-spurred brass butt-cap, shield shaped brass escutcheon and replacement wood ramrod, iron surfaces with patchy staining
