for 1881, with 27in. barrel, block and blade fore-sight, folding ladder rear-sight with slider, brass slab-sided frame, walnut butt-stock, central trap-door to the brass heel-plate, iron finger-lever, walnut three-quarter fore-end and under-barrel magazine tube stopping short of the muzzle, exterior surfaces worn, lifter a possible replacement.

Other Notes: The vendor informs us that this rifle was used by the actress Aline MacMahon who played the part of Kate Carnady in the 1955 film "Man from Laramie". It was converted to centrefire from the original .44 Henry so blanks could be manufactured. The chambering remains unaltered (hence the description '.44 American' which was the centrefire version of 'Henry') The film also included actor James Stewart, and was a major box office hit grossing 3.3 million dollars at the box office
