A FINE, CASED 54-BORE PERCUSSION FIVE-SHOT DOUBLE-ACTION REVOLVER, MODEL 'DAW'S PATENT', serial no. 1543,
circa 1855, with round 6 3/8in. sighted barrel with flats to top and bottom (traces of finish), the top-flat signed 'GEORGE H. DAW, 57 THREADNEEDLE ST LONDON PATENT 1543', London proofs, scroll engraving to the muzzle and breech-end, double-linked under-barrel loading lever (some colour), plain cylinder (much faded colour), fully border and scroll engraved blued open iron frame, long-spurred hammer, chequered walnut semi saw-handled grip, engraved iron butt-cap and trigger-guard bow, complete with its original stained oak case lined and compartmented in green baize and containing an original and period mahogany cleaning rod, brass bullet mould, 'James Dixon' powder flask, cap-tin and oil-bottle
