circa 1840, with round, rifled 2 1/2in. tapering twist-iron barrel, the top with flat sighting plane, bead fore-sight, standing notch rear-sight to front of the engraved top-tang, borderline and scroll engraved back-action lock, plain hammer, nickel-silver bolster under lock front, walnut full-stock with chequered birdshead butt, nickel-silver inlaid panels to pommel and side-cheek, large nickel-silver escutcheon to wrist, complex nickel-silver escutcheons to the barrel-key and engraved iron trigger-guard plate and bow (old repair to fore-end)
