circa 1880, with 2 1/2in. octagonal barrel signed in full with patents to the left hand side, solid frame, the top-strap marked in large letters 'BULLDOG', fluted cylinder, colour-hardened hammer and spur-trigger, chequered hard-rubber birds-head grips, the whole retaining much factory nickel-plated finish
