as issued to the Austrian Cavalry and dated for 1878, with 7 1/4in. round barrel, blade fore-sight, dove-tailed notch rear-sight to the breech, long stepped cylinder with squared raised external locking lugs, open iron frame with external spring hammer safe, the left side of action regimentally marked '1RA' over '2', double action mechanism, coarsely chequered bag-shaped butt, loose lanyard ring and plunge ejector with lock, strong traces of finish throughout
