* AN UNUSUAL GILLET, BRISTOL CASED PERCUSSION GARNITURE COMPRISING A 54-BORE TRANSITIONAL REVOLVER & A 120-BORE DOUBLE-BARRELLED TRAVELLING-PISTOL, no visible serial numbers, circa 1840-45, the first with octagonal 5 1/2in. barrel signed 'IMPROVED REVOLVER, GILLET BRISTOL', plain cylinder, three-quarter nipple shield, scroll engraved rounded action with top bar-hammer (stamped with a South African registration number 'T710'), engraved grip-strap and butt-cap, chequered walnut grips, the second with 3 3/4in. side by side barrels, borderline and scroll engraved back-action locks, walnut three-quarter stock with chequered bag-shaped butt, twin guarded triggers and wood ramrod (converted from captive iron), together with a period mahogany case almost certainly adapted for these pistols at a later date and containing a mould for the pistol, a turn-screw and a wad punch for the revolver
