WILSON, HORNCASTLE CASED 54-BORE PERCUSSION REVOLVER, MODEL 'KERR'S PATENT, serial no. 6678, circa 1855, with blued 5 3/4in. semi-octagonal barrel, pillar fore-sight, the left hand top-flat with London proofs and stamped 'L.A.C.', the top-strap signed 'EDWIN WILSON, HORNCASTLE', notch rear-sight to top of standing breech, plain five-shot cylinder, two-piece frame construction marked 'KERR'S PATENT', coarsely chequered walnut grip with back-action lock inlet to the right hand side signed 'LONDON ARMOURY CO.', side hammer, lanyard ring at heel, single action trigger, and colour hardened under-barrel loading lever, together with its manufacturer's oak storage case, a parchment 'London Armoury Company' trade label inside lid, the interior compartmented and lined in green baize and containing a mould, flask, cap-tin and suede bullet-bag (lock escutcheon missing)
