A SCARCE .450 DOUBLE-ACTION REVOLVER, MODEL 'ADAMS PATENT', serial no. BL710,
circa 1880, with octagonal 6in. barrel (numbered underneath '1737'), blade fore-sight, sighting groove to the top-strap, each side of the groove signed 'LONDON ARMOURY CO J.C. KERR & CO' and '54 KING WILLIAM ST. E.C.' respectively (badly rubbed), solid frame marked on the right hand side 'BL710' over ADAMS PATENT 39710', plain cylinder with rear ratchet locking, the cylinder arbor retained by a sprung catch in the front centre of frame, drop-down loading gate, central spurred hammer, one-piece chequered walnut grip with semi saw-handled profile, iron domed heel-plate with cap-trap and guarded trigger, the whole stripped of finish with some pitting, deep in places and not recommended for use
