A SMALL COLLECTION OF FOUR PINFIRE REVOLVERS, serial no's. 4885, 14, 2071 & none visible,
all last half of the 19th century and of Lefaucheux type, the first of 6mm and finished in nickel-plate with 2 3/8in. barrel, the second marked 'THE GUARDIAN AMERICAN MODEL OF 1878', re-blued and in 6mm with ornate gutta-percha grips, the third signed 'LEFAUCHEUX' and 'LONDON', also in 6mm with scroll engraved open frame (much colour) and chequered walnut grip, all three with folding triggers, the last of larger size and in 11mm, with round 6 1/8in. barrel, brushed bright finish with sparse engraving and chequered bag-shaped butt, the four pistols fitted in a later wood case adapted for the purpose
