circa 1862, with blued octagonal 4in. barrel signed 'MANHATTAN FIRE ARMS CO. NEWARK N.J.' (much finish remaining), open iron 'Colt' type frame, plain cylinder with roll engraved decoration and ten locking notches, brass grip-straps and trigger-guard bow (traces of plating), smooth walnut grip and hinged under-barrel rammer
