circa 1864, with octagonal 8in. barrel, the top flat signed with the 1858 patent and 'E. REMINGTON & SONS, ILION, NEWYORK USA' over 'NEW MODEL', under-barrel loading lever, plain cylinder, solid frame, smooth ivory grips (discoloured, age cracks) and brass trigger-guard bow, the whole retaining traces of faded blue finish
