circa 1881, with nickel-plated octagonal 2 3/4in. barrel, the left hand side signed 'C.S. SHATTUCK, HATFIELD, MASS', nickel-plated solid frame with front extension stamped 'PAT NOV 4 1879' and supporting a colour-hardened hinged cylinder arbor allowing the fluted nickel-plated cylinder to swing completely clear of the frame, single action mechanism, replacement wood grips, the metalwork retaining virtually all its original finish
