circa 1870, with twist and pull octagonal 4 1/8in. barrel marked on the left 'CAST STEEL', bead fore-sight, solid frame with oversize cylinder aperture allowing the cylinder to be drawn forwards by the barrel ejecting the rounds, the left hand side signed 'THOMAS'S PATENT No. 779', the top-strap signed 'MANTON & CO, LONDON & CALCUTTA', short plain cylinder with rope-twist engraved band to front, spurred hammer with wingnut safe, chequered walnut one-piece grip (chipped at top) and guarded trigger
