circa 1857, with blued 4 1/2in. barrel, engraved band at muzzle, scroll engraving at barrel throat, the top-strap signed 'WM. & JNO RIGBY, 24 SUFFOLK ST. DUBLIN' within a scrolled borderline, dove-tailed fore-sight, standing notch rear-sight, plain cylinder (traces of colour) with rope-twist engraved band to leading edge, borderline and scroll engraved solid frame with swinging safe to right hand side, double action mechanism with spurred hammer, walnut chequered semi saw-handled grip and hinged 'Tranter's Patent' rammer on left of barrel, much finish remaining
