circa 1857, with re-blued 4 1/2in. barrel, scroll engraving at muzzle and barrel throat, the border engraved top-strap un-signed, dove-tailed fore-sight, standing notch rear-sight, scroll engraved plain cylinder with rope-twist engraved band to leading edge, border and scroll engraved solid frame with inverted 'Y' safety spring to left hand side, double action mechanism with spurless hammer, walnut chequered semi saw-handled grip (small chip to top-left) carved with a dog seated beneath a tree in lieu of an escutcheon and hinged 'Tranter's Patent' rammer on left of barrel, refinished throughout
