A PAIR OF 54-BORE PERCUSSION DOUBLE-ACTION REVOLVERS, MODEL 'TRANTER'S 4TH MODELS', serial no's. 20760T & 20788T,
circa 1860, identical in form and engraving, with re-blued octagonal 6in. barrels, engraved bands at muzzles and scroll engraving to breech, the top-straps signed 'THOS. BLISSETT SOUTH CASTLE ST. LIVERPOOL', borderline engraved frames signed 'TRANTER'S PATENT' with scroll engraving to the action sides, borderline engraved five-shot cylinders with engraved rope-border to the leading edge, spurred hammers and swept-back chequered walnut grips with iron pommel-caps, both pistols refinished with some loss to engraved detail
