for 1861-62, with 7 1/2in. two-stage barrel (markings almost entirely erased), plain cylinder (external shallow pitting), plain solid frame with frontal cylinder release and central hammer (number 23 on loading gate), smooth walnut grips, hinged ejection lever forming the trigger-guard, completely stripped of finish
