one of around 250 produced circa late 1850's, with 4 1/2in. octagonal barrel, the top-strap marked 'PETTENGILL'S PATENT 1856', double articulated under-barrel split loading-lever, scroll engraved solid hammerless frame, the underside marked 'RAYMOND & ROBITAILLE PATENTED 1858', plain cylinder, smooth flared walnut grips and guarded trigger
