originally percussion, possibly factory converted circa 1870, with round 6in. sighted barrel, dove-tailed blade fore-sight, plain cylinder, plain hinged frame, selectable trigger-blade (mainspring at fault), flared walnut smooth one-piece grip with traces of a martial cartouche and redundant articulated under-barrel rammer, strong amount of original blued finish remaining
