AN 1827 PATTERN BRITISH NAVAL SWORD, no visible serial number, post World War Two, with slightly curved Wilkinson type 31in. blade etched for the majority of its length with arabesque panels of scrolls, the centre of the right hand side with a Royal Crest, the left with a fouled anchor surmounted with a King's crown (some mild staining and discolouration throughout), the forte with inlet proof mark, brass gothic half-basket hilt (no gilding) with moulded King's crown and fouled anchor device, the pommel carved with a lions head, white replacement leather wire-bound grip and fold-down inner guard, together with its brass mounted black leather scabbard
