circa 1887, with 3in. octagonal barrel signed on the side 'MALTBY CURTISS & CO, NEW-YORK, USA' with patent dates to 1884, solid frame (designed to give the illusion of a break-open revolver), sliding safe to top-strap and embossed hard-rubber grips, retaining virtually all its original amount of original nickel-plated finish and complete with its manufacturer's card carton
