circa 1840, with expertly re-browned twist iron 30in. barrels, the top-rib signed 'T. KIRKWOOD, MONTROSE' (refreshed), bead fore-sight, scroll engraving to the rib-end and top-tang, platinum plugs, bar-action locks with border and scroll engraving and signed 'S. BOOTH & CO', engraved dogshead hammers with detachable noses, chequered walnut half-stock, iron furniture and brass mounted ebony ramrod
