circa 1770, with later conversion via drum and nipple to percussion, with heavily swamped octagonal 10in. barrel signed 'BRANDER, MINORIES, LONDON', London proofs and makers mark 'MB', engraved band at breech and solid engraved top-tang, borderline engraved flat bevel-edged lock signed 'BRANDER, stepped pointed tail, walnut full-stock with brass furniture including long spurred grotesque mask butt-cap, large oval escutcheon at wrist, complex sideplate and rolled edge trigger-guard bow engraved with a bow and quiver, complete with its brass tipped wood ramrod
