A CASED PAIR OF 30-BORE PERCUSSION RIFLED TARGET-PISTOLS, UNSIGNED, no visible serial numbers,
French or Belgian circa 1845, with re-blued twist iron slightly swamped micro-rifled 9 1/2in. sighted barrels, moulded snails, engraved top-tangs and breech-blocks, borderline engraved flat locks with florally engraved detail, clipped tails engraved hammers, walnut half-stocks with chequered full pistol-grips, flared pommels with gadrooned borders and carved shell-lidded cap-traps, spurred trigger-guard bows, set triggers and shell carved fore-end tips, no provision for ramrods, in a later case relined and compartmented in the Continental style for the pistols and their accessories (one tin absent)
