circa 1865 with later factory conversion to rimfire (numbered 7252), with nickel-plated 3 1/8in. octagonal barrel, the top-flat signed 'MANUFACTURED BY REMINGTON ILION N.Y.' over 'RIDER'S PAT AUG 17 1858, MAY 3 1859', plated solid frame with exposed hammer and guarded trigger, plain cylinder with detachable back-plate, capping notch in recoil shield, and chequered gutta-percha grips, the whole retaining virtually all its original plated finish
