LONDON.' and '2', (faint), 2 1/2in. chambers, bored approx. 1/2 choke in both, treble-grip action incorporating J. Deeley and L.B. Taylor patent hand-detachable locks, patent no. 17731 of 28th July 1897, use no. 537, the toplever engraved 'WESTLEY RICHARDS EJECTOR' and '2', automatic safety with gold-inlaid 'SAFE' detail, detachable floor plate, acanthus scroll engraving surrounding the makers name in scrolling banners, the triggerguard engraved with acanthus scroll and a hound on point, brushed bright and blued finish overall, 14 1/2in. figured stock with chequered side panels and steel heel and toe plates, fore-end with Deeley and Edge patent release catch and horn finial, weight 6lb. 13oz.
