A RARE 50-BORE NEEDLEFIRE SELF-COCKING REVOLVER, MODEL 'KUFAHL PATENT', serial no. 2609,
circa 1850, with 4 3/4in. octagonal barrel, dove-tailed fore-sight blade on shallow ramp, carved top-strap signed 'DREYSE, SOMMERDA' and with shallow standing notch rear-sight, scroll engraved solid frame, short six-shot cylinder with rear ratchet locking, slab-sided receiver with engraved top edge of octagonal form and machined needle pommel to rear, chequered walnut grip with extension side-pieces covering the action, lanyard ring to heel and guarded trigger, the whole cleaned and refinished with some loss to detail
