A CASED 120-BORE PERCUSSION SELF-COCKING REVOLVER, MODEL 'DEANE'S PATENT', serial no. 12937,
circa 1855, with octagonal 4 1/4in. octagonal barrel signed along the top-strap and flat 'DEANE ADAMS & DEANE 30 KING WILLIAM ST'T. LONDON BRIDGE', small dove-tailed blade fore-sight, standing notch rear-sight, plain borderline engraved London proved cylinder, borderline engraved frame with inverted 'L' shaped safe spring, spurless hammer, double action only guarded trigger and semi saw-handled chequered walnut grip with polished horn cap, refinished throughout, complete with a period brass cornered walnut storage case re-lined and re-compartmented for this revolver and containing a number of period and possibly associated accessories including a patent brass mould, an ebony cleaning rod, an oil bottle, cap-tin, nipple-key and breech-brush, together with a later powder flask
